One thing about us as a majority? We gon’ talk. And quite frankly, that’s the problem. Our culture has been infiltrated, regurgitated, and appropriated for hundreds of years, and we still don’t get the credit we deserve. Instead, we’re labeled negatively, while those who steal from us get praised as being “unique,” “eclectic,” or “eccentric.” Hell, even we be handing out cookout tickets at the first sight of their mediocre attempts to imitate us.

2025 needs to be the year of shutting the fuck up—as a collective. Let’s move in spaces that are meant for us, keep your “friends and lovers” out, and bask in the safety of our culture with those who’ve inherited the right.
